Pupils at 200 primary schools competed in the Spring Challenge to win a visit by a celebrity storyteller.
Schools involved with the green travel initiatives of Walk on Wednesday and Green Footsteps, as well as the home reading initiative of Buster’s Book Club, vied to earn a visit from Phil Gallagher, who plays the starring role in the Mister Maker CBeebies TV show.
Dunston Class at Bapchild Primary School, near Sittingbourne won the visit for being top or most improved for green travel, while Ramsey Class at the same school did exceptionally well with their reading.
Phil Gallagher praised pupils in the school for their efforts with walk to school and reading.
Simon Dolby from the KM Charity Team said: “Our charity is so grateful to Phil for his visit to Bapchild Primary School. His enthusiasm for our charity’s work always energizes and excites the children during his visits.”
