A community committee has been created to help organise this year's KM Big Quiz in Maidstone.
Organisers are keen to enlist extra recruits, particularly from businesses.
The mammoth charity quiz attracted 67 teams last year.
The KM Community Committee wants to smash that record, in terms of teams and the money raised for charity.
The KM Big Quiz will take place at Maidstone Leisure Centre, Mote Park, from 7pm on Friday, November 14.
Tickets can be bought using a credit or debit card from the website www.kmbigquiz.co.uk
Proceeds will be divided between the Heart of Kent Hospice, the Kent Walking Bus and the Mayor of Maidstone's charity appeal (50 per cent to the hospice and 25 per cent to the other two causes).
A fund-raising game will be played on the night in aid of Children In Need.
The cost for a table of eight people is £56, and includes a ploughman's meal and a glass of wine.
Joining the fledgling committee are volunteers from the KM Walk to School team, Heart of Kent Hospice and HSBC bank.
KM Big Quiz question master Simon Dolby said: "The KM Community Committee needs extra people to join, either to formally sit on the committee and help plan the event, or to volunteer to assist with an aspect of the night or the run-up to it.
"They could be management trainees who are lent to the committee for an hour a week as part of a company's commitment to community and CSR causes or perhaps KM readers who believe they can help make the event a success by volunteering to assist.
"Tasks range from the simple, such as delivering promotional posters to key locations, to the complex, such as helping with the logistics of the event."
A number of sponsors have already agreed to support the KM Big Quiz. Maidstone Leisure Centre is providing the venue for free, Fremlin Walk is a main sponsor of the night, P&O Ferries is donating vouchers for all eight members of the winning team to take a car and up to nine passengers to France for an extended trip. Shepherd Neame will organise the charity Spitfire bar.
Mr Dolby said: "We are keen to hear from companies interested in sponsoring this event, either by providing prizes or by sponsoring quiz rounds."
A quiz round named after your organisation costs a minimum of £100 in sponsorship.
