A SPORTING showdown will see a police team taking on local nightclub staff in a charity football match on Saturday, September 22.

Neighbourhood officers will compete against staff from Amadeus nightclub at the Barnfield Recreation Ground, Chatham. Kick-off will be at noon.

The event has been organised to raise money for Danecourt school. It has been organised by police community support officer supervisor, Alan Beech, who said: "We are delighted to be taking part in this charity game and I hope that we manage to raise lots of money for the school.

"The police team are looking forward to keeping their recent winning streak alive and local people are welcome to come and support us and enjoy the event."

Staff at Amadeus raised about £1,400 for the school in a collection held last Friday evening.
