Charities have the chance to win hundreds of pounds to boost their coffers at the annual KM Big Charity Quiz – just by turning up.
The KM Charity Team will be giving away a share of the funds raised to one lucky good cause - and this could be up to £1,000 - chosen from all the charities who enter a quiz team.
Organiser Dominic Comins said: “Each charity will have their name put into the draw once for each team they enter, so the more tables you can get together, the better.
“It’s not all about altruism either – each member of the winning team will receive £150 of DFDS Seaways vouchers, plus there’s a raffle with big prizes including classic toys from Hornby, and a mini competition in which you can win two Eurostar tickets.”
The rest of the proceeds will be divided between Ashford Volunteer Centre, which is the Kentish Express newspaper’s charity of the year, and literacy and road safety projects in schools.
“Every penny you spend at the bar or in the raffle goes to charity,” Mr Comins added.
“Plus it is always a really good night – and you get a generous selection of snacks and a bottle of wine thrown in on your table as a thank you for taking part.”
The quiz takes place at the Ashford International Hotel in Simone Weil Avenue on Friday, June 15 at 7pm. Teams can have up to eight people.
The KM Charity Big Quiz is supported by Barclays bank, who will be matching the money raised and manning the charity bar; Shepherd Neame, who are donating all the drinks for the bar; Office Angels, whose staff will be helping out on the night; Hallett and Co Solicitors; Specsavers; and IMP, who are providing the PA system.
