Clever use of their joker delivered Supernova victory at the county final of the KM Big Charity Quiz.
Fifteen of the county’s very best quiz teams competed in the annual event with Medway and Canterbury teams taking the top eight spots over rivals in Ashford and Canterbury.
Supernova and second placed Moomins had looked out of the running until the final round when they both scored maximum points. The final scores put Supernova ahead of the Unicorn and Moomins by just one point.
The top four teams from KM Big Charity Quiz heats staged in Ashford, Canterbury, Maidstone and Medway during 2016 were invited to the final, which was originally due to be staged in January 2017 but had to be moved to February because of disruption caused by snow.
Quizmaster Simon Dolby said: “It was great to get our winning and top placed teams together for the finals The caliber of talent in the teams was extremely high this year making the event very close.”
In 2017 heats of the KM Big Quiz will be held in Medway in March, Canterbury in April, Ashford in June and Maidstone in November. The county final is expected to be staged in the following January.
