There's still time for quizzers to secure a team at a prize packed wine and wisdom style event this month.
The annual Canterbury Big Charity Quiz, staged by the KM Charity Team is being held at Kent Sport on Friday, April 21. There are still a handful of tables left for anyone up for a fun challenge for charity.
Quiz-goers will have the chance to win raffle prizes including classic toys and collectables from Hornby as well as the evening’s star prize of a pair of Eurostar tickets.
Organisations entering a minimum of three teams will have a prize presented to the top team from their group. Special prizes will go to the highest scoring teams from the NHS and caring services, local government and schools.
Drinks to supply the Spitfire charity bar have been donated by Shepherd Neame and will be served by volunteers from Barclays. The bank will use its pound for pound initiative to double the money for charity.
Proceeds will be shared between the Kent and Canterbury Hospital’s League of Friends, the Motor Neurone Disease Association East Kent, and services supporting child literacy and road safety.
Dr Catriona Irvine, of the League of Friends of Kent and Canterbury Hospital, said: “The League of Friends has been involved [in the quiz] at least ten years - a major partner for the quiz - and our members provide the food for the event.”
Organisers of the Canterbury Big Quiz are hoping to beat last year’s fundraising figure of £8,000.
Now in its 17 year the event is supported by businesses including Armadillo Self Storage, Office Angels and IMP Event Production.
Dominic Comins, of the KM Charity Team, said: “There’s still time to enter a team and help raise a record amount for good causes. Make a date for Friday, April 21 and encourage your friends and work colleagues to join you.”
