A nine-year-old from Whitstable proved there is such a thing as a free lunch when she won a competition to design the ideal lunchbox meal.
Florence Kenny from St Mary's Catholic Primary School came first in the Perfect Packed Lunch Awards 2014 with her Fruity Forest entry.
Children from around the county took part in the contest which combines literacy and creativity to promote healthy eating. The awards are organised by the KM’s charity department and have been designed meet Key Stage 1 and 2 standards.
Organiser Nancy Clark of the KM Charity Team said: "The judges loved Florence's entry as it showed a real understanding of what makes a healthy packed lunch but was also fantastically creative using fruit and vegetables to create forest wildlife."
Florence's winning entry meant that 250 children at the school got a free packed lunch care of sponsors Brakes and Mini Babybel. Other sponsors of the Perfect Packed Lunch Awards are Southern Water and Golding Homes.
A delighted Florence said: "I enjoyed taking part in the competition and creating my Fruity Forest and I am really pleased that now everyone in the school will get a free packed lunch."
The competition is now open for entries for 2015. To enter, visit www.perfectpackedlunch.org.uk.
