A community worker who goes "above and beyond the call of duty" has been nominated for a Pride in Medway award.
Kaz Macklin, a neighbourhood manager for Project Reignite in Chatham, has been put forward in the community involvement category.
Kaz works with people in the Brook Lines area who are faced with social issues such as unemployment, lack of confidence or alcoholism. The project, which has been running for 15 months, aims to help people overcome their problems so they can be part of the regeneration of Medway.
Kaz and her team help people deal with confidence issues, learn new skills to find employment and find somewhere to live.
Kaz was nominated by Patrick O'Connor from Chatham.
He said: "As one of her clients I feel she deserves a great deal of recognition. The change she has made in my life is unbelievable.
" Her seemingly never-ending energy and support to her clients is above and beyond the call of duty.
"It is time her hard work and dedication, not only to me but also to all the other people in the community she has helped and supported, is recognised with a formal award.
A surprised Kaz said: "I'm delighted someone has had the confidence to make the nomination and it has made me feel very proud to be part of the project and to be appreciated."
