An art and creative writing competition for children is offering the winner a prize pack of art supplies and the chance to see their masterpiece on display in a gallery.
The Perfect Packed Lunch Awards, run by the KM Group's charity department, will reward the county’s top young artist with a gift set donated by Cowling and Wilcox, featuring a Pentel Studio Set of fibre-tipped pens, notebooks, Djeco Mosaics Kit, Dot-to-dot Animals book, Dot-to-dot Machines book, and Wildlife Map colouring book.
But time is running out as the deadline for entries is Friday, November 3.
Megan Scott from Cowling and Wilcox said: “We are pleased to support the Perfect Packed Lunch Awards as we would like to ensure as many children are exploring arts and crafts and being creative as possible!”
The contest offers primary school youngsters the chance to flex their creative muscles by devising the ultimate packed lunch for an individual of their choice. Entrants can take inspiration from historical figures, book characters, or even famous artists for their submissions.
To enter, children must draw or paint a picture of their lunchbox meal and write about what makes it special. Every entry will be displayed in recipe card format on the Perfect Packed Lunch Awards website. Competition categories include Historic, Book Character, Famous Artist, Healthy, Cheesy, Fantasy, Fairytale, Superhero, Knight, Pirate Captain, and Princess.
Other organisations partnering with the KM Charity Team for the contest include Three R’s Teacher Recruitment, Golding Homes, Kent Libraries, and Wellbeing People.
Young artists submitting the best entries will be invited to an awards ceremony at The Beaney House of Art and Knowledge, Canterbury, where their work will go on display.
