IN TRUE Calendar Girls’ style, regulars at a Kent pub have bared all (almost) to raise money for a cancer charity.

The risque 2007 calendar was launched last weekend at the Compasses Inn at Sole Street, Crundale, near Canterbury.

Miss February is pictured clutching her stethoscope and Miss June is sitting pretty in a strawberry field.

Strategically-placed pumpkins protect the models’ modesty in October and Miss March sits astride a horse like a latter day Lady Godiva.

The 20 women who took part in the photo shoot were following in the footsteps of male customers at the Compasses, who posed for their own almost-nude calendar for 2006.

Both are raising money for Cancer Research UK in memory of pub regular Ian Parrott, who died from stomach cancer.

Landlady Lisa Smart explained: “Everyone was so upset when Ian died that we decided to raise money in his memory.

“Last year, the men agreed to pose for a calendar, but on the condition that the women did one the following year.”

The 2006 calendar sold 425 copies and made £2,317 for the cancer charity. Now, Mrs Smart hopes the female version will outstrip the men – literally.

“Ian would have loved the calendars and his widow Yvonne and daughter Lisa appear sitting in a field of poppies for July,” said Mrs Smart, who took the photos for the calendar herself.
