Youngsters from Canterbury schools took to the streets today to win a magical trip to Santa’s Grotto at Whitefriars shopping area.
They were taking part in a KM Walk to School challenge day to find the top class in the district for green travel. Families were encouraged to leave the car at home for the day and to walk, cycle, scooter or even park and stride to school instead.
The coveted prize up for grabs is an unforgettable Christmas experience at Santa’s enchanting new Grotto located in the centre of Whitefriars square in Canterbury. The visit, which includes storytelling by Mrs Claus or her festive helpers, offers children the chance to tell Santa what they most want for Christmas plus they’ll take home a present on the day.
Simon Dolby from KM Walk to School said: “The winning class will have a wonderful time at Whitefriars’ super new Grotto, it’s a lovely prize. I wish all the schools the best of luck!
“I’d like to thank Whitefriars for supporting the walk to school campaign and encouraging a more active and healthier lifestyle for the next generation.”
