The KM Charity Team is throwing down the gauntlet to pub quiz teams across east Kent, daring them to put their trivia bona fides on the line by taking part in the Canterbury heat of the KM Big Charity Quiz.
By taking part, contestants will get the chance to qualify for the Big Quiz’s prestigious county final and will also raise much-needed money for charities doing valuable work helping older people and protecting endangered wildlife.
The quiz takes place at Westgate Hall on Friday April 17, with the money raised going towards KM Media Group charities of the year the Aspinall Foundation and Age UK Thanet and KM Charity Team initiatives promoting green travel and literacy at schools across Kent.
The top 10 teams will qualify for December’s Big Quiz county final, which also takes place at Westgate Hall, and the winners will go home with a cash prize potentially worth up to £200 and special hampers filled with goodies provided by Shepherd Neame and the Southern Co-op.
Sheps and the Southern Co-op will also be providing the drinks and snacks for a discounted fundraising bar.
And the prizes for a charity raffle will include a return cross-Channel voucher for one vehicle and up to nine people courtesy of ferry operator DFDS, one of Hornby’s much-loved collectable gift sets, cases of wine and beer, and a one-night stay at critically acclaimed gastro-pub The Dog at Wingham.
Tables for teams of up to eight people cost £65. See www.kmcharityteam.co.uk/challenge/bigquiz for bookings and information.
Besides Shepherd Neame, Hornby, DFDS, the Southern Co-op and the Dog at Wingham, the quiz is also supported by Specsavers, Office Angels and IMP Studio & Live.
