Companies are getting all fired up for one of the KM Group’s biggest fundraising event of the year the KM Dragon Boat Race.
Gillingham based shopping centre Hempstead Valley one of many businesses to pledge to race the dragon for charity.
Employees and shop staff from the centre are submitting a team for the event this Sunday, July 6 to support Kent Air Ambulance. This marks the second year that Hempstead Valley has taken part in the race. Last year, its team raised funds for the Helping Hearts appeal to purchase a defibrillator for the shopping centre.
Simon Dolby from the KM Charity Team said: “This event is a real highlight of the summer for action, fun, team-building and fundraising. There’s a fantastic atmosphere and organisations can raise money for any charity or good cause of their choice.”
Sponsored by Specsavers, the KM Dragon Boat Race is on this Sunday, July 6 at Mote Park Water Sports Centre, Maidstone. Free to spectators, the event also includes a Family Fun Day with activities, refreshments and stalls. The first dragon boat race begins at 10am.
