Guests at the ceremony for the Thanet Community Awards will have the chance to celebrate in style with a delicious non-alcoholic cocktail especially designed for the evening.
The cocktail will be prepared by mixologists at the Yarrow Hotel in Broadstairs, where the awards ceremony will take place in January.
Yarrow barman Jeffrey Noriega treated awards coordinator Karen Brinkman of the KM Charity Team to a sneak preview of his cocktail skills, leaving her suitably impressed.
She said: “Guests at the awards ceremony are in for an absolute treat. The hotel’s cocktails are simply divine, and I am sure the awards evening will be a night to remember.”
The awards, which are open to good causes, parent-teacher associations and individual volunteers making a difference to the community in Thanet, are run by a partnership comprising offshore wind farm London Array, shopping centre Westwood Cross, the Thanet Extra and the KM Charity Team.
There are now just three weeks to go until the November 27 deadline for submitting entries, and Karen urged charities and volunteers to put their names in the hat.
She said: “Time is fast running out for you to submit entries for these wonderful awards, but people shouldn’t be put off by concerns about having to complete burdensome red tape.
“The online entry process is as easy as pie, and can be completed in just a few minutes. So please send in your entries in the next three weeks.”
To submit entries, visit thanetcommunityawards.co.uk.
The winners will share £10,000 in prize money. Westwood Cross, London Array and the Thanet Extra will each present a cheque to a chosen charity for £2,000, and the shopping centre and the newspaper will champion their winners over a 12-month period.
Another £4,000 will be shared among three runner-up charities and three individual volunteer winners.
