Easter is coming and you might be putting on a few pounds.
But worry not: you can start getting beach-ready the week after gorging yourself on chocolate eggs with the KM Big Bike Ride.
Departing from Betteshanger Park near Deal, the ride takes place on Sunday, April 28.
And with a choice between 50K and 100K itineraries, the event provides the perfect route back to self-discipline for chocolate lovers of all appetites.
Big Bike Ride coordinator Hannah Hawksworth said: “The timing couldn’t be better for the KM Big Bike Ride.
“Taking place just after Easter Sunday, it allows sweet-toothed cyclists to enjoy some guilt-free indulgence knowing that just seven days later they will be taking on a spring outdoor challenge.
“But you don’t have to be Geraint Thomas or Laura Kenny to take part.
“The choice of routes makes it great day out for everybody, whether your focus is on sharing some quality time with your family, raising money for your favourite charity, enjoying the beautiful Kent countryside, or pushing your body to its limits.
“Guarantee your participation by booking now.”
Booking for the ride costs £30 per person, but there is a £5 discount for anyone using the discount code KMNews19.
Riders can take part just for fun, or to raise money for their favourite good causes. 70 per cent of sponsorship money will go to the participants’ chosen charities, with the rest helping to fund the KM Charity Team’s child road safety work in Kent.
And any individual raising £200 or more for charity will go into a draw to win a pair of Eurostar tickets.
The ride is supported by Vattenfall, Benenden Hospital Trust, Herberts Cycles, the Southern Co-op and SE Medical.
Participants will benefit from electronic chip timing, refreshments provided by the Southern Co-op, and a sportive photograph taken during the event.
