A total of 32 groups and individuals are set to benefit from a special Island community chest.
The chest has being organised by the Times Guardian and Minster-on-Sea Rotary Club, which have joined forces to give away more than £3,000.
The money comes from Rotary events last year and from initiatives held as part of the Times Guardian’s 150th anniversary.
The good causes applied for grants of up to £200.
A committee made up of representatives of the club and Times Guardian met last Thursday to discuss the applications.
Rotary Club president Mike Brown will write to the lucky recipients.
He said: “We were delighted to be part of this venture as it has enabled a number of organisations to benefit from some much needed funds.
“The club raises money through during the year and, while we are always looking for projects to work with, we are also keen to distribute a range of smaller amounts to many organisations. We hope to continue to work closely with the Sheerness Times Guardian.”
Times Guardian editor Matt Ramsden said: “We were absolutely delighted with the number of entries we received. The money is definitely going to some great Island causes.”
