Sportive cyclists will be offered a challenging but visually arresting journey as they face the 100K route of the KM Big Bike Ride.
The Locks of Sandwich Cycles-supported route takes riders around the county’s vast coastline starting from and concluding at Betteshanger Park, near Deal.
Participants will journey through beautiful Sandwich, Pegwell Bay, Ramsgate, Broadstairs, Margate and Westgate-on-Sea, before embarking on the lengthy but lovely ride home through Reculver, Bramling, Chillenden, Elvington and Northbourne.
Refuelling stations will be located throughout the ride providing refreshments and sustenance to keep you going. All riders will receive a souvenir medal upon completion and sportive photographs are also available to all.
Booking is now open for the KM Big Bike Ride, but with little over two weeks to go, time is running out to secure your place. Riders have the option to fundraise for their favourite good causes, or charities linked with the event such as the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance. Alternatively, the ride can be entered simply for fun.
The Vattenfall-supported ride takes place on Sunday, April 24 and provides entrants with the choice of two routes – the aforementioned 100K coastal, and the more leisurely 50K countryside.
Lisa Craig, events manager at the KM Charity Team which organises the ride, said: “Those looking for an action-packed day out should opt for the 100K route. Not only is it a physically taxing event, it’s also one of great beauty. You’ll most certainly want to take some snaps on your way round!”
Book now for the event at www.kmbigbikeride.co.uk and use code KMPRBB16 for a £5 discount.
Riders of all ages are welcome to take part, but those aged 12 to 17 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
