Scarecrows will be appearing all over River this weekend as villagers take part in a special event.
The River Scarecrow Trail is being organised by the River Events Committee in conjunction with an open gardens weekend.
It takes place from 10am to 4pm on Saturday and Sunday.
Each scarecrow will have a clue to a competition, and those who solve all the clues could be in line for a prize.
All visitors have to do is pick up a competition form and a map from the village hall or Crabble Corn Mill, find each scarecrow, identify them, solve the clues and return their completed form.
All correct forms will be entered in a prize draw with a portable CD player as the top prize.
Trail maps are £2 for adults, children can go free, and proceeds will be going to the Kent Air Ambulance.
Visitors can also vote for the best scarecrow, with a top prize of £50 in vouchers.
Country organic foods will be available in the village hall, and a barbecue and evening barn dance will be held at Crabble Mill.
