A snooker world record attempt might not make the first break after one of the contestants fell ill.

Colin Adcock and Gerry Cunningham were all set ready to start a non-stop 50-hour snooker marathon at their club, the Chatham Snooker Club, in Military Road, Chatham, at 2pm on Friday.

But this morning Colin fell victim to a stomach bug sparking a desperate search to cue up a replacement:

Speaking to kmfm’s Aurelia Allen, Gerry said: “I’m in desperate need now of a player – it doesn’t matter what standard or age, as long as they think they can hold out for the 50 hours.”

“It will be a world record, you’ll get the recognition, a certificate, but most importantly the event will have gone ahead for Kent Air Ambulance and Demelza House.”

“I’m desperate for this to go ahead.”
