BRIGHT sunshine and refreshing sea breezes provided perfect conditions for walkers from Whitstable on Sunday.
A group of 36 people - plus a few dogs - set off from the boathouse at the harbour for the Kings Hall in Herne Bay to raise money for Whitstable’s lifeboat.
They walked the 10 miles there and back and collected more than £2,200 for the charity, although organisers hope it will top the £2,500 mark.
Branch chairman Diane Lamberton said: “It was a good turn-out and there were quite a few new faces as well as loyal supporters which was very nice to see.
“No one got blisters and people stopped along the way for a snack or to enjoy the day.
“It was very successful and I’m grateful to everyone who took part.”
The first walkers back were Carl and Jamie Wright, who completed the walk in just three and a half hours.
