Reading his favourite toy a story has earned Liam Parker a prize in the Phil and Ted’s Excellent Adventures photo competition.
The blog that promotes the antics of Phil Gallagher and his best friend Ted the bear regularly asks families to send in photos of children with their favourite teddy or cuddly toy - and awards prizes to the best ones.
Liam Parker, 11, from St Teresa’s RC Primary School, Ashford, is the first to be named as a winner by little Ted. He will receive a voucher for Build-a-Bear Workshop.
Phil, who plays the role of Mister Maker in the CBeebies TV programme is Honorary Patron of the KM Charity Team, which Ted is mascot for.
The children's charity works with 250 primary schools in Kent supporting green travel to school, road safety and initiatives to boost reading levels. Last month 50,000 children and families received the charity's newsletter promoting the photo competition with Liam being named the first of the winners.
Simon Dolby from the KM Charity Team said: "I am delighted with Ted's choice. The photo of Liam and Tigger was excellent and to have the pair reading just made it even better."
There is no closing date for the competition and prizes are awarded each month. To find out more visit www.philandted.co.uk and click on any of the blog posts to find out about the competition.
The KM Charity Team is supported by organisations including Mini Babybel, Specsavers, Countrystyle Recycling, Three R’s Teacher Recruitment Agency, KCC, Medway Council, Leeds Castle, Orbit South, Golding Vision (part of Golding Homes), Thanet District Council, Maidstone Borough Council, Canterbury City Council and Whitefriars shopping area.
