Flat tire? Forgotten helmet? Whatever obstacles are in the way of you and your bike, don’t let them stop you from being a part of the KM Big Bike Ride!
The annual Vattenfall-supported ride takes place at Betteshanger Park, near Deal on Sunday, April 24 and organisers KM Charity Team are searching for volunteer supporters for the day.
With two routes on offer to riders – a 50K countryside and 100K coastal – a number of marshals are required to ensure the safety of our competitors, and to keep them on the right track.
This role supporting and assisting participants is extremely important to the success of the fundraising challenge day which last year broke records for attendance and money raised.
This is not a paid position, but KM Charity Team do pay an honorarium of £20 per day to help cover mileage and other expenses a volunteer might have.
Lisa Craig, events manager at the charity, said: “We greatly appreciate any and all assistance from the public at our events. The KM Big Bike Ride is one of the most action-packed and exciting challenge days in our calendar, and we welcome support from volunteers to help make the day extra special.”
Key partners of the ride include Vattenfall, Locks of Sandwich Cycles, Kent Women in Business and The Freewheel Pub and Cycling Cafe.
