Members of the public have until March 1 to put forward their favourite teacher for an award at the website www.kentteacheroftheyear.co.uk.

A key partner of the awards, Three R's Teacher Recruitment, has joined the call for nominations to find the stars of Kent’s schools. Last year more than 400 nominations were submitted for primary and secondary categories including maths, drama, literacy, NQT, volunteer, non-teaching members of staff, and team.

Leah Macdonald of Three R’s said: “It’s ever so important that teaching and support staff are recognised for all the hard work they do throughout the year and this is a brilliant way of recognising those in education.”

Entries will be judged by a panel including representatives from CXK, Kreston Reeves, Loop CR Ltd, Kent Sport and Physical Activity Service, Canterbury Christ Church University, Social Enterprise Kent, SELT, Project Salus, Kent County Council, Medway Council, Leeds Castle, Marlowe Theatre, and the following departments at the University of Kent: History; Biosciences; European Culture and Languages; Politics and International Relations; Physical Sciences; and Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science.

Simon Dolby from the KM Charity Team, organising the event, said: “I am thrilled that Three R’s are backing the awards once again and I hope everyone - schools included - will take the time to nominate the staff going above and beyond the call of duty.”

There is no limit to the number of nominations that can be submitted by pupils, parents and school staff using the simple online form at www.kentteacheroftheyear.co.uk.

The district winners and overall champions will be announced at a prestigious awards dinner at Leeds Castle in May.
