The deadline for a spectacular singing competition has been extended by one week due to popular demand.
The KM Walk to School Song Contest will now close on Friday, June 3 so time is running out to get those final editing tweaks sorted before sending us your track.
Parent-led walking buses, groups of friends, and school choirs are eligible to enter and this year’s track to perform is “I Wanna Be Like You” from Disney’s The Jungle Book.
Six groups of finalists will be invited to record their song professionally at a leading recording studio.
The overall winners will be invited to perform their rendition at two major events in 2017: Walk to School Awards and Buster’s Big Bash.
Schools can create original lyrics for the song, or simply provide a cover version. Backing music is not essential and points will be awarded to the most creative entries.

The KM Walk to School Song Contest is organised by the Walk to School division of the KM Charity Team in association with Independent Music Productions (IMP).
KM Walk to School is led by a collective partnership including Kent County Council, Medway Council and the KM Group. Organisations supporting the services include Specsavers, Safer Kent, Eurostar, Golding Homes, Countrystyle Recycling, Southern Water, Leeds Castle, Three R’s Teacher Recruitment, Orbit South, Whitefriars Canterbury, Maidstone Council, Ashford Borough Council, and Bexley Council.
