Go the extra mile for a good cause by joining hundreds of others on annual charity walk.
Tickets are now available for the KM Charity Walk, which sees walkers striding across the Kent countryside, either just for fun or for a charity of their choice. The main route stretches ten miles from Georgian mansion Mote House to Leeds Castle. There is also a five mile route for those wishing to take on a shorter distance.
The 2017 event marks the walk's 22nd year. Goody bags and medals will be awarded to all those taking part on the day, as well as a celebratory barbecue at the finishing line.
Ashford-based Simply Ice Cream is proud to be supporting the event. Sally Newell from the company said: “Simply Ice Cream tries to support at least two charities each year. We obviously get approached with a lot of requests for charity donations, but something like this will not only raise brand awareness, but hopefully help a lot of charities. The Simply Ice Cream van will be at Mote House, which will also host a number of other stands with food offerings, so that the general public can come and buy after or during the walk.”
Participants’ sponsorship proceeds will be divided with a 70-30 split between the good cause of their choice and the children’s road safety work of the KM Charity Team respectively.
Simon Dolby of KM Charity Team said: "We're hoping to smash all previous records for number of walkers and money raised for good causes. It's a great opportunity for family, friends and colleagues to get together for a day out that combines getting active, having fun and taking in the stunning Kent scenery. This feels even better when combined with sponsorship for charity!"
The KM Charity Walk 2017 is supported by Mote House, Simply Ice Cream and Glosrose.
