Two-legged and and four-legged walkers stepped out in style for the Rotary Club of Ashford’s 38th annual ramble.

Dogs are regular participants in the event, which offered either five or 10 mile walks across Wye Downs in aid of Pilgrims Hospices in East Kent, Demelza House and other Rotary charities.

Nearly 100 people took part in Sunday's event, raising more than £3,500 on the day with more pledged to come in.

Walkers had the option to give half the money raised to a charity of their choice with the balance going to the chosen Rotary charities.

Five-year-old Blue, a german shepherd, was first dog back from the 10-mile walk with owners Margaret and daughter Lucy Hegarty.

The youngest walker was seven-year-old Megan Taylor, walking with sister Jessica, 10, and her parents.

First home from the five mile walk were Marion and Tony Pratt, Tony and Sue Denne and John Reuther raising money for Rotary, with Pat Ayathurai and Helen and Steve Arlett first back from the 10-mile route, raising money for the William Harvey League of Friends and Rotary.
