One lucky pupil will get to be the boss of a top hotel thanks to an exciting writing competition.
The winner will get to spend a day seeing what goes on behind the scenes at the four-star Ashford International Hotel.
They will take part in a range of fun activities, including checking that the hotel’s facilities are up to the highest standards, working with the concierge to ensure that guests enjoy a VIP reception on their arrival, and taking part in a mock interview.
To enter, all children need to do is write a letter to their best friend persuading them to join in the KM Charity Team’s Walk to School campaign.
The aim of the competition is to challenge pupils’ creative writing skills as well as their knowledge of the importance of green travel.
Competition organiser Sarah Clyne said: “This is a really super prize for one lucky pupil, who will get to enjoy the experience of being the boss of one of the county’s top hotels for the day.
“The competition is also a fun and exciting way to encourage children to practise their literacy skills and to think seriously about the importance of green travel.”
The piece of work must be handwritten on the official “power of persuasion” activity sheet. Download a copy here.
The competition is open to children under the age of 12 on December 10 who are attending primary schools in Kent, Medway, Bromley and Bexley. The closing date for entries is noon on Monday December 10.
