BARRATT Southern Counties has announced its plans for a new development, Leybourne Park, in Aylesford.
The company has acquired planning permission for about 300 homes, including one and two-bedroom apartments and a range of two, three and four-bedroom houses, set amid beautifully landscaped surroundings.
Leybourne Park will transform the 20-acre site, formerly occupied by a paper packaging manufacturer, into an attractive development with its own distinctive character.
Inspired by traditional Kentish architecture, the new homes will complement Aylesford’s buildings and, with materials including black and white weatherboarding and pastel-coloured render, will have a particular charm of their own.
Aylesford is reputed to be one of the oldest sites of continual habitation in England and has a 14th century bridge with pointed arches spanning the Medway.
Work has already started on site and the sales and marketing suite. Prices are anticipated to range from about £140,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and from up to £275,000 for a three-bedroom home.
