MODERN stylish 1930s’ Art Deco interior design has arrived at Kings Hill, near West Malling, with the completion of the show apartment at Guys Court in Gibson Drive.
The romantic but practical modernist design is inspired by the Art Deco ocean liner style and has created a winged building that uses glass and copper panels to create horizontal lines evocative of the period.
All the interiors have been planned with finishes such a limestone and veneer-inlaid doors.
The new two bedroom, two bathroom show apartment benefits form a curved entrance hall that is complemented by higher than average ceilings, large windows and a well-proportioned lounge.
Interior designer Louisa Hynes was commissioned to create the show apartment, which reflects the elegant aspects of the Art Deco interior style. She was inspired by the recent V&A Art Deco exhibition and the Art Deco restoration in the 1930’s of Eltham palace by the Courtauld family.
There are 14 two bedroom apartments, each with their own private balcony or terrace area, and the two 1,500 sq ft penthouses have roof terrace gardens.
Innovative interior fittings include under floor heating, zoned stereo capability and a central control panel where all the lights can be turned off with one switch and groups of lights in the living room or bedroom can be digitally dimmed.
There is a lift giving access to each floor and each apartment also has a single garage, with power and light, in a circular garage block.
The apartments are priced between £285,000 to £495,000. For more information call 0800 5873953 or visit www.guyscourt.com
