Builders up for environment awards

THREE housebuilders have made it through to the second stage of judging for their Kent sites in the 2002 Greenleaf Awards.

The firms, all in the Southern region category, are Crest Nicholson for Basted Mill, Ward Homes for Beecham Wood and Twigden Homes for Walsingham Gate.

The awards recognise the importance housebuilders place on the creation of a whole living environment and not just building new homes.

The competition attracted entries from 137 developments, built by 20 housebulding companies. Of these, some 76 developments have been selected by the judges to progress to the second stage.

The final will be held at the Daily Mail offices in Kensington in May.
