NOT all of Redrow Homes' customers are prepared to settle for the comfort of their new home. Andrew Carter, who recently bought a home at Redrow's Goldcrests, part of the Sonora Fields development, near Sittingbourne, is all set to tackle the jungles of Borneo.
He is heading off as part of the Borneo Challenge for British Blind Sport, a charity that provides sporting and recreational opportunities for the blind and partially sighted. Andrew aims to raise at least £3,400. Redrow helped him get started with a donation of £250.
He will spend eight days off-roading over highly unpredictable terrain in 4x4 vehicles, trekking through the jungle and taking a native long boat up river.
"It will be the biggest challenge of my life," said Andrew. "The experience will be extremely demanding both mentally and physically, but it is a very worthy cause and I'm really grateful to Redrow for their contribution."
Chris Roads, sales director for Redrow South East, said: "The Borneo Challenge will not only be a fantastic feat of courage and determination for Andrew, but also a great charitable event. Redrow is always pleased to support a good cause such as this and we wish Andrew the very best of luck."
