PAINT manufacturer Dulux is offering a free nationwide service which will find home owners a Dulux approved decorator for any job, large or small. Dulux Decorator Service trains, vets and approves professional decorators.

Training involves technical skills, knowledge of colour schemes, special effects and different types of finish. The decorators are well qualified to help with advice or inspiration. SOLIHULL-based Sure GB has developed SureStop, a simple switch, which enables property owners to limit the amount of water damage caused by leaks and burst pipes.

SureStop, priced from £25 plus VAT, uses servo valve technology to enable the cold water supply to be remotely switched on and off via a rocker switch replacing the traditional stopcock.

Easily installed by professional and competent DIY plumbers in about 30 minutes, it can be used to protect the entire water supply or isolate different zones such as kitchen, bathroom or utility room. SureStop is suitable for all 15mm pipework systems, copper or plastic, and works on cold water mains pressure alone, requiring no electricity. SureStop can be sited in an easily accessible location up to four metres away from the stop valve, so it is particularly practical for wheelchair users and the elderly.
