WHEN Paul Devlin moves from his one-bedroom apartment to a new two-bedroom apartment at Barratt’s Riverside Plaza in Maidstone, he’ll be climbing the property ladder without travelling too far; the new development is only 100 metres down the road from his current home.
Paul, who has lived in Maidstone for about 10 years, has watched the development of Riverside Plaza with interest.
Offering one and two-bedroom apartments and three and four-bedroom houses in a riverside setting with its own exclusive fitness suite, Riverside Plaza is a short walk from Maidstone town centre.
Paul said: "I was attracted by the look of Riverside Plaza. Architecturally the buildings are contemporary and very stylish."
He was equally impressed with the latest phase of development, The Sanctuary, which includes nine two-bedroom, two-bathroom apartments all overlooking the river.
Four feature a sun lounge and terrace and all have a private garage or allocated parking space. Paul chose a two-bedroom apartment.
"Living at Riverside Plaza will definitely change my lifestyle. I intend to go to the on-site gym and get fit," says Paul, managing director of a local company.
The Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Mike FitzGerald, participated in the centuries-old ceremony of topping out when, using a specially commissioned trowel, he added the last layer of concrete to the roof of the development.
Topping Out is considered to bring good fortune to those who live in the building and to thank those who have been involved in the development. Today, Topping Out is a way of thanking the workforce and all those who have played their part in the construction.
