A DEVELOPMENT in Borough Green is being created on land which originally formed part of the 19th century Borough Green House and its listed barns, which are being converted to provide family homes.
On the same development, Blenheim Place by Antler Homes will comprise nine five-bedroom executive houses.
The listed barn at Borough Green House was where one of the first traction engines was built in 1847 in an attempt to beat down the hauliers’ prices for hauling stone to the village.
Keith Coxhall, managing director of Antler Homes, said: “The new houses at Blenheim Place are being created within a significant historic setting. Given their traditional design, the homes will blend sympathetically with the period architecture of Borough Green House and its adjoining buildings.”
The houses are priced between £319,000 and £405,000.
