Bob and Verna Newnham have moved 11 times during their 37-year marriage and their latest move is to a new Rydon home at Merchants Mews in Canterbury.
It is the fourth new property they’ve moved into.
Bob and Verna spent the last eight years living in a cottage in Throwley, but decided to downsize and move back to Canterbury. They soon discovered Merchant’s Mews, Rydon’s development of 12 two and three-bedroom homes off New Dover Road, a mile from the city centre.
The Newnhams were impressed by the architecture, design quality and location.
"We knew what type of house we were looking to downsize to and Merchant’s Mews fitted the bill exactly," said Bob.
"The development enjoys a secluded location given that it is so close to Canterbury city centre and the finish and quality of the new homes are excellent. The sales team was reasonably flexible on the price and Rydon agreed to pay a percentage of our stamp duty so we went ahead and reserved one of the houses.
"In this country, we don’t recognise the quality of our designers, architects, engineers and tradesmen and I must congratulate Rydon Homes on bringing the best of the various skills together to build the outstanding properties at Merchant’s Mews."
From sales consultants to customer care team, everyone had been "very professional, prompt and attentive".
Merchant’s Mews has appealed to a wide range of buyers and only three properties are now available. These include two three-bedroom semi-detached homes, each with garden and garage and a three-bedroom mid-terrace house with sun lounge, garden and two allocated parking spaces.
Prices start from £340,000 and Rydon Homes is offering incentives including part-exchange and Smart Buy.
