PEOPLE are being given a chance to buy a new home at the latest affordable housing development in Maidstone.
An open day will be held this coming weekend (saturday April 22 or Sunday April 23) from 10am-4pm at Brennan Mews in Buckland Road.
This new Orbit First Step development means local first time buyers can now part buy and part rent a new 3 bedroom town house giving them a helping hand onto the housing ladder near to their families and place of work.
Prices for a 50 per cent share in a property currently range from £112,500 to £116,250 depending on plot location, with rent payable on the remaining half of the property.
People can then buy more shares when they can afford to do so until they eventually own their home outright.
All properties include gas fired central heating, fitted kitchen, oven and hob with cooker hood, fridge-freezer, washing machine, fitted carpets, parking spaces, smoke alarm, external shed and have NHBC warranty.
Helen Muir, head of Home Ownership at Orbit First Step, part of the Orbit Group, said: "At a time when there is an acute shortage of affordable accommodation and house prices continue to be high we are delighted that Orbit First Step are able to give local people in Maidstone an opportunity to get a foot on the property ladder."
Anyone unable to attend the open day can contact 0845 8 50 20 50 or visit www.orbit.org.uk/ofs.
