Pupils learn lesson in building site safety

PUPILS from St Margaret's RC Primary School in Tonbridge found their classroom moved to Lyons Wharf, Crest Nicholson's riverside development in the town. After watching a video at the school, the pupils were given a tour of Lyons Wharf by Crest's site manager, Tony Catt, who advised the group on the dangers of playing on sites under construction, and gave them an insight into the process of building a new home.

The group was given the opportunity to perform activities that are commonplace on a site, turning their small hands to brick laying. After a drink and a biscuit, each pupil left with a helium balloon and a Crest information booklet to remind them of all that they had learned.

Peter Bowden, managing director of Crest Nicholson, said: "The safety of the community in which we build is one of Crest's primary concerns."

Lyons Wharf comprises 16 three-storey homes and 36 apartments. Prices start from £210,000 for the apartments and from £249,950 for the houses. Phone 01732 358646 for details.
