MARK THOMPSON, site manager for St Augustine's, the Wilcon Homes development in Chartham, has won a quality award in the first round of the National House Building Council's s 2001 Pride in the Job campaign.

He joins 400 site managers from around the country in competing for a Top 100 Seal of Excellence award, due to be announced in the autumn.

Mr Thompson said: "The reason we have got this far is because I set high expectations for myself and for the team and because we take pride in our jobs."

After regional winner stage, the final three supreme winners will be announced at a gala dinner at the end of the year.
