If you own your own home or rent it from a private landlord, you may be eligible for a grant of up to £2,700 (or £4,000 if oil central heating is involved) under the Warm Front Scheme.
If the property has previously received Warm Front improvements, the grant now available will be the balance of £2,700 (or £4,000 if oil central heating is involved) less the value of all works previously completed.
Applicants must meet certain criteria. To check eligibility, contact the Benefit Entitlement Check team on freephone 0800 072 9006 or email bec@eaga.com
Everyone is eligible for a discount from the KASH scheme, which has low prices on loft insulation, cavity wall and solid wall insulation and heating.
You can get up to 50 per cent off the costs of insulation – or as much as 70 per cent if your home is electrically heated – and huge discounts are available on a range of efficient boilers.
For example, a typical home could have cavity wall insulation installed for less than £300 and loft insulation for about £250. This includes a saving of £150 on usual prices. These combined measures could save £140 a year on your fuel bills!
Condensing boiler prices start at about £500 + VAT and, if you need help finding an installer, Kent Energy Centre can put you in contact with a local CORGI or OFTEC registered company.
KASH is the Kent local authority scheme and trained energy efficiency installers carry out the work so you have the peace of mind of top quality workmanship.
