MORTGAGE Debtline, a voluntary organisation, has launched its free advice service for Kent homeowners with debt problems.
Unlike loan consolidation companies and debt managers, the service aims to provide unbiased advice. Figures released last month by the British Bankers Association show that personal debt - including credit cards, overdrafts and personal loans - now stands at a record £79.1 billion. This means the population is more in debt than ever before.
Re-financing to release equity tied up in property is the route most frequently chosen by people to sort out their finances. It is here that Mortgage Debtline can help, regardless of past credit history, including mortgage arrears, county court judgements or pressure from credit card companies over late payment.
Mortgage Debtline can be contacted on 08000 858 678.
