Work begins on retirement complex

A £1.7 MILLION contract has been awarded by Pegasus Retirement Homes to Dean & Dyball, runner up in the 2001 Pegasus Excellence Awards.

The company will build 15 one and two-bedroom apartments for the active retired on the site of a former nursing home in Park Road, Tunbridge Wells. The contract is the third to be awarded to Dean & Dyball. The same team recently completed a development of 19 one and two-bedroom apartments in Eastbourne.

Work has just started on site, with the anticipated completion date of March, 2003. A show apartment and sales office will open shortly.

Features of the development will include an owners’ lounge with library and kitchen area, a visitors’ suite with en-suite shower room and an estate manager’s office. There will be a lift to all floors, a recharging area for a battery operated pavement cars, furnished and decorated communal areas and landscaped gardens.
