Go wild for a season at Howletts

HOWLETTS Wild Animal Park near Canterbury and Port Lympne Wild Animal Park near Hythe are holding recruitment fairs over two weekends in March and April.

The wild animal parks, managed by the Aspinall Foundation, undertake pioneering work in animal conservation and are widely known for their unique approach to animal management through encouraging close, affectionate personal relationships between staff and animals in an environment as close to their natural habitat as possible.

They are taking on part-time and full-time seasonal staff to work during Easter and throughout the summer in all areas of the parks, fulfilling functions such as casual bar and waiting staff, chefs, general staff in the retail outlets, gardeners, litter operatives and administration assistants.

For those who are more interested in the animals, vacant positions exist at the Livingstone Lodge Safari, as safari trailer drivers and animal presenters. Volunteers are also required to man the education centre.

Recruitment fairs will be held on Sunday, March 2, and Saturday, April 26 at Port Lympne and Saturday, March 1 and Sunday, April 27 at Howletts between 9am and noon.
