Land a job at leather store

A LAND of Leather shop is to open in Gillingham, creating around 10 jobs.

The leather specialist plans to open a store at Gillingham Business Park on Boxing Day.

It will be the company’s third store in Kent and will be based at the former B&Q site at Ambley Road.

The 60,000sq ft unit is being converted into four stores. Work should be completed by October. Other potential tenants include Dreams, Carpetright and the Bath Store.

A spokesman for Land of Leather said: “We are very excited at the opportunity to expand our brand into the Medway Towns.

“It comes after our recent August Bank Holiday openings which saw us break through the 100-store barrier.”

B&Q moved to bigger premises near Will Adams Way last summer.
