THE Carphone Warehouse is hiring 34 full- and part-time sales consultants for its Canterbury and Herne Bay branches between now and Christmas.

As part of a massive recruitment drive across the country, the mobile phone firm will be taking on the new-hires on a permanent basis, and not just for the busy festive period.

The positions are in the Sturry Road outlet, in Canterbury, and the Mortimer Street branch in Herne Bay.

Divisional retail manager Patrick Charlton said: "We are expanding aggressively, and in order to sustain that growth, we must ensure that we have the necessary number of people to continue to offer our customers a better mobile life."
