JOBSEEKERS and people looking for a new challenge can find out what is available in October.
For the first time in its 27-year history the annual North West Kent Careers Exhibition will be helping adults to find a new job or go back into education.
The event, organised by the North West Kent Business Education Partnership and supported by the Gravesend Messenger, is at the Woodville Halls in Windmill Street, Gravesend.
It is primarily targeted at schoolchildren for its 9.30am to 3.30pm opening times on the Tuesday, October 8, and on Wednesday, October 9.
But the evening opening from 5.30pm to 8pm will include on-the-spot interviews and advice on how to try something different.
Organiser Drummond Millis said: "The evening session allows the children to bring their parents back and so they can find out information for themselves. But, for the first time, we are trying to attract people who want to change their career or want some training.
"There will be interviews on the spot, or opportunities for an interview in the near future. The employers there will have jobs available.
"There will also be part-time colleges there for adults that want to learn a new skill and gain a qualification."
Mr Millis said: "If people work in the day they can't get to the job centre and find out what's available. Here, they will be able to come along after work."
There will be more than 50 exhibitors at the North West Kent Careers Exhibition with about 3,000 pupils expected. Coaches have been booked to come from as far as Swanley.
