Training course helps teenagers find jobs

TEENAGERS are being offered a helping hand into the job market at a two-week course in a Kent town this month.

Training company Key Training is running another Opportunities Plus course in Ashford aimed at giving unemployed 16 and 17-year-olds motivation and confidence to help them find work.

It covers issues such as self-belief, interview techniques and communication skills. There will also be an activity day, including anything from rock-climbing to windsurfing.

The course will run from Monday, September 18, to Friday, September 29, at the Elwick Club in Church Road.

Lunch, travelling and childcare expenses, and up to £40 weekly allowance are provided.

There will be an information session for anyone wanting to find out more next Thursday at Connexions in Trafalgar House, Elwick Road, at 3pm.
