Safety work on A2 bridges in Canterbury begins on Saturday, January 24, and is due to last four weeks.
The bridges affected are the Wincheap and Hollow Lane ones.
The work will renew the parapets, which will strengthen the structure of the bridges.
Safety barriers are also being upgraded. A 50mph limit will be in place.
Work on the coastbound carriageway will start on Saturday and is expected to be completed on Saturday, February 7.
Work on the London-bound carriageway will start on Sunday, February 8, and is expected to be completed on Saturday, February 21.
One lane of the carriageway will be closed during the work.
There will also be overnight closures of the coastbound carriageway at Wincheap on Saturday, January 24, and the London-bound carriageway on Sunday, February 8, from 9pm-6am.
Work to improve drainage along the A2 at Boughton also begins on Saturday, January 24, and is expected to be completed by the end of March.
There will be a 50mph limit and overnight lane closures between 8pm and 6am.
