Travelling by train will soon get a lot more comfortable for some - and a lot more difficult for others.
Southeastern has announced a timetable of changes from December 14, which includes extra carriages, cuts to services and additional shuttle trains.
The changes, which mark the transfer of the Tonbridge to Redhill service from Southeastern to the Southern Railway franchise, will run until May 16 2009.
It will be replaced with twice-hourly shuttle trains from Tunbridge Wells to Tonbridge via High Brooms between 10am and 3pm weekdays and 8am to 6pm on Saturdays, but Southern will continue from an hourly service from Tonbridge towards Redhill.
Several other services are being withdrawn, including the 8.56am Tunbridge Wells to Tonbridge, the 8.39am and the 9.38am Tonbridge to Tunbridge Wells services.
In addition, the hourly Maidstone West to Three Bridges and the hourly Strood to Maidstone West Sunday services will be replaced by one train an hour between Strood to Paddock Wood.
Several Kent lines still covered by the Southeastern franchise will get extra carriages, including the 5.18am Ramsgate to London Charing Cross, the 6.41am London Victoria to Dover Priory and the 9.15pm Charing Cross to Tunbridge Wells services.
