AN ACCIDENT evidence kit is now available to gather accurate information at the scene. With a motor accident every two minutes in the UK, the chances are that most of us will be involved in some kind of vehicle collision.
And with the rise in personal injury claims insurance, companies want to make sure information gathered is accurate so they can better assess liability before paying out on any claim. The launch of Crashmate should greatly assist this.
It contains a single use camera with flash and film - perfect for capturing details of damage to yours and other vehicles - a pen, pencil, tape measure and step-by-step booklet which has been produced in consultation with a specialist who handles motor insurance claims.
The booklet contains third party information forms, witness and police information forms, tear-out forms to give to other drivers, nine pre-drawn most common road layouts, room to draw your own layout, further space for additional notes and extra tips and extra reminders.
The most common cause of delays in paying out motor insurance claims is checking the accuracy of the information. All too often information submitted after the event can be misunderstood and, in some cases, deliberately misleading. "In a situation like this, how do you prove that the damage is worse than at the scene of the accident? Well, now you can with the arrival of Crashmate," explained a spokesperson.
The new kit, which fits into the glove box, retails at £14.99 and can be purchased from the Gadget Shop, SF Cody, on the website www.crashmate.co.uk or direct on 0121 323 5454.
