Faulty traffic lights at Littlebourne led to long rush-hour queues on Tuesday morning.
Traffic built up in both directions when both sets of temporary lights, by the village bridge, stuck on red.
At one time the queues were back to Bramling in one direction and the Evenhill pub in the other.
The fault was reported.
